Atlassian increased Confluence Cloud prices on October 13, 2026. The change affects Standard, Premium, and Enterprise subscriptions.
For teams with up to 100 users paying monthly, Confluence Standard increased from $6.70 to $7.15 per user, while Premium went from $13.20 to $14.10 per user. Annual prices also increased, although the percentage varies by user tier. Atlassian publishes the full set of old and new prices.
A separate change arrives on December 3, 2026, when Atlassian starts applying usage allowances and optional extra charges to features such as Rovo and Automation. Atlassian treats this as a separate pricing change from the October subscription increase.
How much did Confluence prices increase in 2026?
There is no single percentage that applies to every Confluence customer.
Monthly subscriptions use progressive per-user pricing, so the rate changes as the number of users increases. Annual subscriptions use fixed user tiers. The percentage increase therefore varies by plan and team size.
For smaller monthly subscriptions, the increase is around 7%:
| Plan | Old monthly price | New monthly price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard, users 1-100 | $6.70/user | $7.15/user | 6.7% |
| Standard, users 101-250 | $5.10/user | $5.45/user | 6.9% |
| Premium, users 1-100 | $13.20/user | $14.10/user | 6.8% |
| Premium, users 101-250 | $9.55/user | $10.20/user | 6.8% |
These rates are progressive. A company with 150 users does not pay the 101-250 rate for all 150 seats. The first 100 are charged at the first tier, with the remaining 50 charged at the next rate.
Annual pricing works differently:
| Plan and user tier | Old annual price | New annual price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard, 50 users | $3,350 | $3,600 | 7.5% |
| Standard, 100 users | $6,700 | $7,200 | 7.5% |
| Standard, 200 users | $12,000 | $12,500 | 4.2% |
| Premium, 50 users | $6,600 | $7,100 | 7.6% |
| Premium, 100 users | $13,200 | $14,000 | 6.1% |
| Premium, 200 users | $23,000 | $24,500 | 6.5% |
| Enterprise, 1,000 users | $127,000 | $137,000 | 7.9% |
The increase applies to Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. Confluence Free remains available for teams with up to 10 users.
Atlassian publishes many more tiers than the examples above. Describing the 2026 increase simply as "7%" hides some fairly large differences between team sizes.
What does the price increase mean for your Confluence bill?
For a 50-user team on Standard with annual billing, the change adds $250 per year.
At 100 users, Standard now costs $500 more per year. A 100-user Premium subscription increases by $800, while a 1,000-user Enterprise subscription rises by $10,000 per year.
Monthly customers also need to account for Atlassian's progressive pricing. A 100-user Standard subscription now costs $715 per month at list price, compared with $670 before the increase. Premium rises from $1,320 to $1,410 for the same number of users.
The actual bill can be higher if you also pay for Marketplace apps, Atlassian Guard, or other Atlassian products. Marketplace partner apps did not automatically increase in price as part of the October update, although app vendors can change their own prices independently.
When did the new Confluence prices take effect?
The new prices took effect on October 13, 2026 PT.
What happens next depends on how you pay:
- Monthly subscriptions: bills issued on or after October 13 use the new pricing.
- Annual subscriptions: renewals on or after October 13 use the new prices.
- New subscriptions: purchases made on or after October 13 use the new list prices.
- Plan or user-tier upgrades: upgrades made on or after October 13 are calculated using the new rates.
Annual quotes created before October 13 remain valid at the old price until the quote expires. Atlassian explains how renewals, quotes, and upgrades are handled in its pricing FAQ.
Why did Atlassian increase Confluence prices?
Atlassian says the new list prices reflect features and platform improvements introduced over the past year. For Confluence, the company points to recent AI work, including creating presentations from Confluence pages, content creation through Rovo, and inline writing assistance. Atlassian also cites investments in infrastructure, security, compliance, and its Teamwork Graph.
That explanation will matter more to some customers than others. A company actively using Rovo, advanced administration, or the wider Atlassian platform may get more value from those additions. A smaller team using Confluence mainly for internal documentation may see the calculation differently.
Another Confluence pricing change starts in December 2026
The October subscription increase is only one of the pricing changes Confluence customers need to know about.
Starting December 3, 2026, Atlassian is introducing extra usage billing for several metered capabilities. For Confluence users, the two most relevant are Rovo credits and Automation steps. Atlassian announced the new usage-based pricing separately.
These charges sit on top of the regular Confluence subscription. Each plan includes a monthly allowance.
| Plan | Rovo credits | Automation steps |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 25/user/month | 100/user/month |
| Premium | 70/user/month | 250/user/month |
| Enterprise | 150/user/month | 500/user/month |
Rovo and Automation allowances are pooled at the organization level. A company with 100 Confluence Standard users, for example, gets 2,500 Rovo credits and 10,000 Automation steps in its monthly pools.
Rovo credits are consumed by certain AI interactions, including Rovo Chat, agents, Confluence Slides, and other AI features. Some lighter AI features, including summaries and rewrites, remain free. Atlassian documents how Rovo credits are calculated.
Automation is measured in steps. Triggers, conditions, actions, branches, and loops can each consume a step when they run. A workflow that previously looked like one automation run may therefore use several steps.
If extra usage is enabled and the organization goes beyond its included allowance, the additional usage is added to the bill. Admins can monitor usage and set limits through Atlassian Administration.
Is Confluence still worth the price?
The answer depends on how much of Confluence and the wider Atlassian ecosystem your team actually uses. Confluence still has a clear advantage for teams that work closely with Jira. Project documentation, requirements, decisions, and engineering work can stay connected without adding another vendor. Premium and Enterprise also offer administration, analytics, security controls, and infrastructure aimed at larger organizations.
The increase is harder to justify for a team using Confluence mainly as an internal wiki or a place for SOPs and company documentation. In that case, a large part of the product may have little bearing on the work people actually do.
It is also worth checking the plan itself before replacing the product. A team paying for Premium but rarely using advanced analytics, higher admin controls, or Premium support may save more by moving to Standard than by migrating to a different platform.
Looking for a more affordable Confluence alternative?
If the 2026 price increase has you reconsidering Confluence, Nuclino is a lower-cost option for teams that mainly use it for internal documentation, wikis, meeting notes, and project knowledge.

Nuclino brings docs, wikis, lightweight project tracking, and collaborative whiteboards together in one workspace. Teams can organize knowledge, track projects with boards and assigned tasks, and keep project documentation alongside the work itself.
It can also replace some of the work smaller teams keep in Jira. Boards, assigned tasks, due dates, fields, and project documentation can all live together. Teams that rely on advanced issue tracking, detailed sprint reporting, or complex software-development workflows will still need a more specialized tool.
Nuclino has a free plan. Paid plans start at $6/user/month with annual billing. Confluence Standard now starts at $7.15/user/month for teams with up to 100 users, while Premium starts at $14.10/user/month.

How to reduce your Confluence bill
Before migrating, check for savings inside the current subscription.
- Remove inactive users. Atlassian recommends deactivating accounts that no longer need access. For annual subscriptions, dropping below a user-tier threshold can reduce the next renewal. Monthly customers should note that removing seats during a billing period does not reduce the bill for that period under Atlassian's Maximum Quantity Billing model.
- Compare annual and monthly billing. Atlassian says annual subscriptions can save up to roughly two months of fees, depending on the number of users. Annual subscriptions use fixed seat tiers, so compare the exact tier with the monthly calculation before changing.
- Check your plan. Review the Premium features your team actually uses before the next renewal. Moving from Premium to Standard can have a much larger effect on the bill than the October increase itself.
- Review Marketplace apps separately. Third-party app pricing was not automatically changed by Atlassian's October update, but those apps can still account for a meaningful share of the total Confluence cost.

Is the December 2026 usage pricing another Confluence price increase?
It is a separate pricing change. The October increase changed the base subscription prices. Starting December 3, certain Rovo and Automation usage above the included allowances can create additional charges if extra usage is enabled.
Did Confluence Marketplace apps also get more expensive?
Not automatically. Atlassian says its October pricing update does not directly change prices for third-party Marketplace apps. Individual app vendors can still change their own pricing.
